Who are the Welsh Camerata?

We are a small choir of around 25 singers based in south Wales and what makes us distinct is that our core repertoire is early music – mostly from the European tradition composed in the 15th to 18th centuries. As well as including familiar pieces in our concerts, we have also discovered some forgotten masterpieces from an incredibly rich period, with many of our concerts containing music receiving its first performance in Wales.

Much of our repertoire is performed a cappella, though we also perform with early music instrumentalists, including the Devon Baroque Orchestra and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama students and staff.

We rehearse on Tuesday nights in Canton, Cardiff and perform three concerts per year, mainly in local churches. In addition, we are also available for hire as a choir or in smaller groups. Please let us know if you’d be interested in including us in your event.
